I'm visiting a friend that I have only met like once for 7 days. Its a guy and I am really nervous he lives across the country from me. I didn't even think of this because I was so busy getting the ticket and getting everything in order that when he asked me what I wanted to do when I first got there I have no idea!!!

Ill be sleeping in his house with his dad and grandma I'm so nervous... Any suggestions on how to not be scared to death? Lol or how to calm down or should I be responsible for making the plans because its in arizona and I've never been.

anything will help thanks everyone! =D

  1. you only met him once and youre going to be sleeping at his house???

  2. If you are comfortable with this guy then there is nothing wrong with being a bit nervous. However.... if it looks like they they about to sell you as a s*x slave then get out quick. I suspect that you will be ok. just leave your whereabouts with someone and call them each am & pm

  3. It doesn't matter how often you talk.  You need to keep yourself safe, and spending a week with a guy you've only met once may turn out to be the biggest mistake of your life.

    Case in point:

My mom met a guy online.  They talked ALL THE TIME for a year.  He came for a weekend and met her and my brother and I.  (he stayed at a hotel)  Well, some time after that, he came for a longer visit and stayed in our home.  After a week, he and my mom had a fight and he went to a bar down the block.  While he was gone, my mom decided she wanted him to leave.  So she got him and brought him back to our house and asked him to get his stuff and leave.  He told her no and started acting belligerent.  So my mom called my ex step dad to have him help remove this guy from our house.  The guy and my ex step dad got into a physical altercation so I called the police.  They took the guy down to the station and booked him.  During the process, they found he'd been using a fake name and couldn't get any real information from him.  So they came to our house with a search warrant and went through his bags.  They found a dozen different ID cards and Social Security cards with different names, but all with his pictures.  He was wanted in 7 different states for multiple offenses.

You never really know who is behind that screen, even if you've already met him.  I really hope you reconsider your plans for your own safety.

  4. Your lack of judgement is appalling, to say the least.

Your nervousness is your gut telling you to stay away, my dear.

Chalk it up as an expensive mistake and DO NOT go!! The guy is too forward to expect you to visit after only meeting you in person just once. It makes zero difference that you've been talking to him a lot; you can't really know someone without GRADUALLY getting to know him/her in person.

Look up "characteristics of a sociopath". This guy is operating as a textbook case.

  5. I have been in a similar situation a few months ago.  when i got there i wanted to go home immediately.  we had talked daily for months i knew him very well.  its just uncomfortable.  and staying with his family makes it that much more awkward.   i wish i could tell you some magic way to cope other than just do it or go home.  i stayed, as time went on i was more comfortable but man oh man was it tough.  not my most favourite vacation.  mine was from canada to oklahoma, what a difference!

  6. You can give some general ideas of things you like to do; you can research the area on the internet and see if there are any "tourist" like things you would like to visit and suggest that. Or you can say: what we do doesn't matter -  I just wanted to spend time with you ;)

  7. Relax! It is your FRIEND your going to visit..replace nervous with excited! and..since you don't know anything about the area, let your friend make the 1st. plans on what he'd like to show you..after you've been there a couple of days, you can always tell him the things/places you'd like to visit/experience while there!and,,HAVE A GOOD TIME!:)
