Visiting canada from the us.?

do you have to be at least 18 in order to cross the border? i'll be graduating high school at 17 and turning 18 in august. i want to see some old friends, but i'm just afraid i wont be able to get in.

you have to have written consent from both parents to enter the country if you're under 18, but if you're 18balready then you can just go in with a passport or birth certificate and photo id

"Wombat' is correct. You may go to Canada unaccompanied.  If you are flying you need a passport.  If traveling by land, you need your birth certificate, and a photo I.D.  You will also need a signed notarized letter of permission from your parents.
