  1. If you are not living within the EU, then you can not and do not have any rights to live or work in Spain. You will need to apply for relevant Visa's/Residance permits, but i have to say your chances are slim to none being from the US.

So u mite just wanna stick to Mehhhhico ;-)

    **EDIT**

Sue you are wrong. If people could obtain Visa's to live in Europe just like that, everyone would be moving here. Bottom line unless you have something 'significant' to offer you will not be able to live here unless you are loaded!! Same applies for Europeans wanting to move to the USA - chances are not good. (why they would want to live there i dont know) :-)

  2. Visit spain info finder whether your looking to buy property in spain,Living in or moving to spain or just visiting hon holiday and looikng for things to do including fishing ,sport, golf, ,car hire, trains etc..

    hope this helps

  3. With a US passport, you are good for three months.  After that you will need some extended visa.  check with the State Department and the Office of Tourism (Spanish).  www.okspain.org  312-642-1922 (Chicago office).

Work visas are difficult to get, but I´m pretty sure that student visas, or just to live there, are available.  They can give you more info at that phone number.
