  1. NO WAY!!  Don't let her in the house! My baby caught a high fever at 4 weeks and the rule is: any baby under 12 weeks with a high grade fever is automatically admitted to the hospital for 4 days for a spinal tap (VERY painful), blood work and other tests to rule out spinal meningitis.  The baby is also treated with mega doses of antibiotics intravenously as a precaution in the event that they find after growning spinal fluid cultures and blood cultures that they have meningitis.  They are treated as if that HAVE meningitis until they know for sure that the baby does not have meningitis.

  2. Glandular fever is just another word for mono which is highly contagious. Granted it is usually passed on by kissing or sharing a drink, but I wouldn't take any chances. It can also be spread through air born droplets. So if she coughs or sneezes, the baby could get it. If someone with mono wanted to visit my baby (especially if she was premature) i wouldn't let them near her.

  3. it would be a HUGE danger to the baby!! If you have the slightest cough, just got over a cold or anything DO NOT GO SEE THE BABY!! He will wind up back in the hospital so fast! preemie babies DO NOT have a strong immune system. He will be at risk for RSV and ammonia and that can kill a baby. STAY AWAY!!

  4. do you wanna KILL 'em?
