  1. Check with your bank.  You can use cash or travelers checks with picture ID

  2. Visa!!

  3. As you already have a Barclay debit card, your best bet is to get their credit card, it will keep things simpler, I have both and they offer a good service and exchange rate.

Tell them you are travelling first and it will make things a lot easier for you when you get there.

  4. Any card with a Visa or MasterCard logo on it can be used around the world, debit or credit.  The same goes for American Express.

  5. As a rule, Visa is the most widely accepted card everywhere.  As many have suggested you could try getting a prepaid credit card, but  at times that might limit you or cause difficulties if you need to transfer funds to cover your needs.  I usually use American Express, but have trouble using it a some smaller establishments, and in small towns.

Travelers checks are a good idea, and you should plan on using them when possible.

    Have a nice trip!

  6. Nationwide, because their charges are lower

  7. You can apply online for a gold prepaid mastercard. You can put money on it at any UK post office and is accepted worldwide.

  8. You can  get a prepaid credit card and add as much as you think you will need. Also purchase some traveler's checks to back it up in case of an emergency. Check with your local Barclay's office.

  9. Any one with a Visa or Mastercard logo.  American Express is ok too, but is accepted at fewer locations.
