Visitor coming and needs a place to stay?

My friend hopes to have a vacation in the town I live in but needs to save the money for plane tickets and living costs. So I need to help them find a place around here to stay. Problem is I have no idea about this stuff. I don't know the difference between a hotel and a motel and what would be a good price. they plan to stay for like, a month. what would be a probable place and price for them?

If they have an Extended Stay hotel in you area, that would be a good option.  They specialize in your type of situation (I looked one up, and it would be about $1500 for a month).  You could also just call some local hotels in your area and ask them about a monthly rate.  Another option would be to rent a furnished apartment for a month.
