Question:

Vista - Windows Explorer won't load on start-up?

When I start up my computer, type in my password, nothing happens. It's just a black screen, with a mouse. Then a message pops up saying Windows Explorer could not be opened. I click 'Close Program' (because it's the only thing I can click), and nothing happens. I can open 'Task Manager'. Everything seems to be running OK, but no Explorer. Ideas? How can I start Explorer? Path?

  1. I've had that situation. I just kept using the recovery button and giving the computer lots of time to finish.  Good luck.
