Vista doesn't work on second internet HUB, why?

In our house we have 2 internet subscriptions. One for our business and the other for my brother and me, the office one is much faster and we only connect to it when we have exeecded our download limit. Well we did, and I have always had a problem connected to the other HUB, I am using Vista home premium and it would never work for me. It ALWAYS worked for my brother as he used to use windows XP. But yesterday he tried to connect as he upgraded to Vista home premium, and it did not work. My brothers GF who tries to connect while she is over cannot connect either and she also is using Vista.

So to summarise it

- we have 2 hubs sitting right next to each other, work and home internet.

- they for some reason do not work with vista at all but work on XP computers (all work computers are running XP pro)

Any suggestions? PS: We have reset the hub many times and our computers.

  1. Well Vista does have problems being new sometimes. With that being said I am not quite sure why you are having problems. It should just be as simple as disconnecting from your current network and reconnecting to the new one. Make sure you have the latest versions of vista installed and that your modem software is up to date. Also make sure you have your encryption code correct. Try making it an open network and see if you can connect then.

Just play around with it until something works, if that means tearing down all your security until it works then so be it. You can use guess and check to solve the problem. Once you have found the problem build youd security back up.

  2. just for arguments sake try disabling the local area network connection on the pc then enable it
