Ok, my friend (lets call him C) is having trouble with his lab top (it is an Hp Pavilion Dv6000). Whenever he right clicks an application(i.e. internet explorer, Microsoft Outlook Calculator) a message starts that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working, and is restarting." He ran a virus check, and there is no virus...this problem only occurs with desktop applications. What in the h**l is going on??

  1. Vista just sucks  Are you sure the error message isn't "Internet Explorer has stopped working and is restarting?"  I get a message that Media Player has stopped working and will attempt to restart.  I just ignore it.  Vista has way too many freeking issues to go into here.  Maybe he should run a disk check, to make sure that there aren't any errors on his hard drive.

  2. When you say it only happens with desktop applications, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean that if he tries to load up IE without clicking the desktop shortcut, it works? Please elaborate

  3. I repair computers in my spare time, and would be happy to look at it.

I can do it remotely, and you will be able to watch what I am doing.
