Question:

Visual C 6.0 in Visual Studio 2008?

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to program visual C 6.0 in the Visual Studio 2008 compiler. I tried to get Visual Studio 6.0 to do it, but my resources failed me 3 times now, and I don't really like the idea of waiting another 14hours till I can finally start programming with a decent compiler.

That's why I thought of using Visual Studio 2008, but I don't know for sure if it'll work (seeing 6.0 is an older version than 2008?).

Thanks

  1. doesn't visual studio 2008 HAVE c++ in it?

  2. I think there are a couple things different, however a C++ compiler is a C++ compiler, so both should do relatively the same thing. Visual Studios Express edition only compiles with the framework. If your trying to convert a VC6 project to a Visual C++ 2008 project you might run in to a couple of problems. I find they never really convert correctly. I suggest taking this question to the MSDN forums, they know all about the compiler.

    Personally I just stick with Visual C++ 6.
