Question:

Visual Studio .Net on a Mac?

My 2002 notebook is getting tired, and I'm getting tired of Windows - so I'd like to get a mac.

I'm a developer, but I work mostly on my PC at work but duty may call, and I may end up using the laptop to work from home.

I know "mac runs windows" but good enough to support VS.net?

Anyone try this?

  1. Yes it does. I actually use VMWare Fusion to run Windows in a virtual machine and it runs very well. I develop C#.Net C++ and some F# on my Mac through the virtual machine instance of Windows.

If you Windows through boot camp rather than as a virtual operating system, you'll find it probably runs faster than a comparable PC - Mac hardware is very very good
