Vita Nova hot favourite for Betfred The Bonus King EBF Daisy Warwick Stakes at Goodwood
Vita Nova is a smart mare, who is likely to make a winning comeback in Betfred The Bonus King EBF Daisy Warwick Stakes, taking place at Goodwood on Saturday, May 5th.
No one can forget Vita Nova’s fantastic debut in June 2010. The mare made a fine impression by starting her career with three back-to-back triumphs.
After accomplishing her hat-trick, Sir Henry Cecil‘s trainee turned to be unlucky, as she finished runner-up in the following three races last year.
The five-year-old went on a long vacation after presenting a below par performance in October 2011. The Qipco British Champions Fillies’ And Mares’ Stakes saw her ending up second last on the table.
Galileo’s daughter is expected to return with a huge bang. Therefore, the punters would place maximum number of bets on her.
The 1m4f competition is scheduled to start at 14:15 GMT. A purse of £20,720 is reserved for the triumphant runner. Taking part in the class 1 meeting are: Vita Nova, Polygon, Tameen, Western Pearl, Qushchi, Shimmering Surf,
Creme Anglaise, Twin Soul and Bolivia.
Polygon is also aiming to return with a special performance. The bay filly went out of action after a poor show in September last year. In the Prix Des Tourelles, the four-year-old could not maintain good standards and as a
result, finished 10th on the table.
John Gosden’s trainee grabbed her maiden success in June last year, when she outpaced her opponents in the Download The Blue Square App Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (Div II).
Although she is capable of doing well at this level, it would be herculean task for her to challenge Vita Nova.
Tameen is also likely to play a part today. The four-year-old is making her comeback after staying out of action for more than five months.
According to our calculations, Vita Nova would be able to notch up the top spot comfortably. Polygon is recommended for the runner-up position.
The Lady Rothschild-owned can become a huge threat to Vita Nova, only if she performs out of her skin. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
