Vitali Klitschko: Dereck Chisora is a tough opponent and knows how to brawl - Boxing news
Vitali Klitschko, the current WBC heavyweight champion, praised Dereck Chisora, his upcoming opponent, saying that the young Briton has guts and despite of collecting a split loss against Robert Helenius, Chisora was the one who emerged as a strong and brave
contender.
Chisora had been rattling the media by putting forth claims of knocking out Vitali and ending his reign once and for all. Surprisingly no comments were thrown by the Vitali camp and almost three days before the epic clash Vitali has broke his silence.
Interestingly the Ukrainian proud praised Dereck of his impressive pugilism and resilience and called the young Briton a man hungry for the title. Dereck and Vitali are scheduled to take on each other in Germany. The ring will be set up at Olympiahalle arena
situated in Munich and the bout will be spread over 12-rounds. Vitali will put his beloved world title on the line.
Chisora has lost just two brawls out of a total 17 and is the former BBBofC British heavyweight and Commonwealth (British Empire) heavyweight title owner. His impressive punching ability and utmost resilience has enabled him to secure second seed in Britain’s
heavyweight rankings.
The feat that made Chisora the number one contender in the eyes of not only the whole world but also Vitali himself was his bout against Robert Helenius. Chisora collected a split decision loss and when he came out of the ring he was the one being praised
for the startling effort and quality pugilism and Robert was nowhere to be found.
Vitali while sharing his thoughts said, “After this fight, I (called) to my manager and told him I want to fight this guy. This will be very good challenge for me. This will be a really interesting fight for not just for the audience, but for me, because
I need a challenge. And my thoughts, my opinion; I (can’t) fight a nobody. I need a challenge. I want to fight the strongest challenger and Chisora is one of them and I’m more than sure the fight Saturday night will be very, very interesting.”
Vitali, infamous as Dr. Ironfist continued to praise his opponent and humbly said that he should not be taken lightly at all since he has seen hunger in his eyes, a deep urge to take me on and become the heavyweight champion. Vitali said that apart from
his determination his skills are also challenging and his agility and footwork is lethal.
The 40-year-old said that after the Dereck-Robert skirmish each and every critic was praising the game put forth by Chisora and no one was talking about Robert simply because Del Boy dominated and overshadowed Robert in almost all the rules of engagement
and boxing facets.
Chisora has definitely earned his huge and experienced opponent’s respect let us see whether he keeps his words and brawls up to the expectation or not on February 18, 2012 extravaganza.
