Vitali Klitschko denies reports of retirement – Boxing News
Finally, here is  good news for Briton fighter David Haye. Ukrainian fighter and the current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has denied reports of his retirement. Recently, reports were published suggesting that the Ukrainian proud will be retiring
before participating in elections.
However, Vitali has shrugged down all the rumours saying he never announced retirement on Monday in Donetsk, Ukraine, at a press conference.
“I am in the pre-election tour of Ukraine, so coming to the Donetsk region is not exactly in order to complete my career,” said the WBC champion who recently defeat Manuel Charr of Germany to retain the title.
“I’m a little bit tired of the question ‘when will it happen?’ I’ve repeatedly stated that when such a decision is made I’ll be sure to announce it at a separate press conference. And for now there is no talk about the end of my career. I’m sorry if I didn’t
put enough emphasis on this at the news conference in Donetsk, which is quoted in the media,” he added.
Vitali Klitschko is being eyed by Briton former heavyweight titlist David Haye for a fight. However, the Ukrainian seems to be in no mood to go for another title defence before his election campaign.
According to David Haye, he was promised by Vitali’s manager for a title shot next year. Upon hearing news of Vitali’s retirement, Haye felt deceived. The Briton disrespected Vitali in several, saying the Ukrainian looks at him as a threat, which is the
reason why he is not up for a fight.
Haye recently gave up his Luxembourg license to obtain a British boxing license. He retired last year due to which his British license was revoked. As of now, Haye wants Vitali to give him a title shot but the Ukrainian has not decided yet as to whether
he will go head to head with Haye.
If Vitali retires, like his manager wants, Haye’s dream of defeating the Ukrainian would be shattered. On the other hand, if Haye gets a chance against Vitali, it will be the test of his life to prove his worth as a heavyweight fighter.
