Vitali Klitschko disapproves reports of fighting against Manuel Charr – Boxing News
WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has disapproved reports of him fighting against Manuel Charr in September. The bout which supposedly had to be Vitali’s last fight before retirement is now no more.
According to Vitali Klitschko, he never agreed to fight Manuel Charr, he just agreed to it. Vitali added that his camp spoke about the possibility of facing Manuel Charr but never put it on paper.
“My return is not set. It was reported that my fight will be held at the Olimpiyskiy and that even the opponent was named,” Vitali noted.
He added, “I can verify that this information is not true. I did not sign any contracts. When I have specific information, we will immediately assemble a press conference to inform [everyone] about where and when I'm having my next fight.”
News of Vitali’s fight against Charr had spread like wildfire. Not only were boxing fans surprised over Vitali choosing Charr as his last opponent, even other fighters were appalled especially David Haye.
David Haye, who is currently going head to head against Dereck Chisora on July 14, is hoping to have a fight against Vitali Klitschko. Earlier last month, Haye revealed that Vitali’s camp had ditched him over the fight contract. Haye revealed that he had
already signed the contract, which was later cancelled by Vitali’s camp.
However, soon Vitali’s manager disapproved Haye’s claims, saying that there was never a contract between Haye and Vitali and that it was just an offer.
For now, Vitali Klitschko is uncertain of his next opponent. Vitali wants to quit boxing and pursue his political ambitions. He is sure that he will be fighting his last fight in September but his opponent is not decided yet.
Probably, if David Haye is able to beat Chisora then he might get a chance against Vitali. It should be noted here that Haye has already lost to Vitali’s younger brother Wladimir Klitschko a year back. Now, the Briton fighter wants to go head to head with
Vitali Klitschko. Therefore, Haye should ensure he is victorious in order to be Vitali Klitschko’s last opponent.
