Vitali Klitschko to face Odlanier Solis in Germany – Boxing news
Ukraine’s national Vitali Klitschko is coming face to face against Odlanier Solis for the WBC Heavyweight Championship fight on Saturday 19th March, 2011 at the Lanxess Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
The fight confirmation was officially made on 11th January. However, twelve different channels from all around the world are going to broadcast this fight on 19th March, 2011. RTL Television will host this fight for the boxing fans
in Germany. Bund Deutscher would be the fight official and Charles Giles is appointed as a supervisor for the fight.
The 30 years old, Odlanier Solis has scored 6 knocked out wins out of his last 7 competitive bouts. As far as his professional boxing record is concerned so he has fought 17 of his fights in total and interestingly he won all the 17 bouts, 12 wins by KO
with no loss of fight and draw. The 17th December 2010 fight victory over Ray Austin was the bout that brought the Odlanier Solis among the heavyweight opponents.
Odlanier Solis having nickname of ‘La Sombra’ is more qualified and dangerous if we camper him with any other fighter whom he fought since Lewis in 2003. There is probability that Odlanier Solis can cause an upset if he comes into his fight in shape.
No doubt Vitali Klitschko’s knockout rate is very high. But people are of the view that he is not a one punch fighter. Because most of the time he has been found to be stayed with his opposition until they finally collapsed or give up. His beaten fighters
were never seriously hurt after getting knocked out by him.
Odlanier Solis has solid chin. However that should be interesting to see what type of strategy he is going to adopt to deal with the size and reach advantage of Vitali.
The experienced Odlanier Solis is appearing to be the favourite contender of the championship. The reason because of his dominant punching ability and he is very confident to win this bout despite of being worried about a cut to his shoulder.
The 39 years old, Vitali Klitschko is the current heavyweight champion in the world by IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine. He has won his consecutive 9 wins and going to make his sixth defence of his WBC heavyweight title. His professional record is as follows.
He fought 43 fights in total out of which he has won 41 fights including 38 wins by KO and 2 losses of the game with no draw.
Vitali Klitschko having nickname of ‘Dr. Ironfist’ carries a big punch and has never seen to be clearly defeated. He faced the couple of defeats just because of being injured. He lost against Lennox Lewis due to a severe cut. People still believe that he
is unbeaten because other than those two fights he has been found impressive throughout his career.
Pre-fight Press conferences have been held officially for the two times at Cologne. In the first press conference, it was observed that although both the fighters do not have any history between each other but they have been exchanged trash talk up to their
fighting competition.
Odlanier Solis blamed Vitali Klitschko for speaking carelessly against him with the words that he is not so quick due to his lazy workout. In response to this Solis mentioned that he is in ideal shape and 100 percent sure to defeat Klitschko.
Solis spoke several times that he will send him to retirement and end his reign by way of beating him. On the other hand Vitali Klitschko shocked Solis by saying that he will get rid of Odlanier Solis by deleting his name from the world of boxing. Solis
manager Ahmet Oner blamed Vitali Klitschko for not taking the interest in the fight for a long time.
The second pre-fight press conference was scheduled on 14th March in Cologne. Interesting both the fighters found to be quiet. However, they promised with each other that he will win the knock-out at the end of the conference.
w 0ca0 6nced to happen between the Ireland’s professional middleweight, Brian Magee and the unbeaten Lucian Bute IBF super middleweight champion. Hopefully, Brian Magee will face Lucian Bute On Saturday 19th March, 2011 at the Bell Centre,
Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Interestingly that would be the first Lucian Bute’s first after signing the multi-fight contract with the SHOWTIME in November 2010. The Brian Magee-Lucian Bute bout will be aired lively on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING at 10 p.m.
The 35 years old, Brian Magee (Height 6′ 0″/ 183cm and reach 74″ / 188cm) stands at number 13 super middleweight fighter in the world with 226 points by the BoxRec.com ratings.  His professional record is as follows. He has won his 34 professional
fights including 24 wins by KO, 3 losses of the game including one by getting knocked out and one draw.
The European Boxing Union (EBU) super middleweight champion, Brian Magee is number five by the international boxing federation (IBF) and he is ranked number two super middleweight in the United Kingdom by the BoxRec.com just after the 33 years old,
Carl Froch, who is number one with 668 points. Brian Magee has won his six consecutive fights since his victory over Mark Nilsen in 8th February 2008. The Lucian Bute’s win over Alejandro Berrio was the fight that brought the IBF title for him in
2007. Lucian Bute has successfully defended his title couple of times when it was on stake against the William Joppy and Librado Andrade.
On the other hand, Romania’s 31 years old, Lucian Bute (height 6′ 2″/ 188cm and reach 72″/ 183cm) is the number one super middleweight in the world with 846 points by boxrec.com ratings. As far as his professional record is concerned, he has won his
27 fights, 22 by KO’s, no draw and interestingly no loss of fight.
Lucian Bute is the number one super middleweight in Romania who has incredible hand speed and power to dominate. Lucian Bute, the natural lefthander has defeated consecutively more than 20 top fighters in the super middleweight division. He won ninth-round
KO decision in his last fight that was against Jesse Brinkley on 15th October, 2010 at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Lucian Bute said Brian Magee is best fighter in the super middleweight division and it was considerably the best option available to me to go against because if we compare Magee with other fighter in the same super middleweight division so we will
find that Magee is the fighter who does not have fast hand speed and he normally does not cause harm to his opponent.
However, Lucian Bute is not going to take the Magee easy that is why he is in Miami and has started his training.
Talking about the strengths of Brian Magee, Lucian Bute mentioned that he is an aggressive and experienced fighter with good right hand hook. Additionally, he said I am not underestimating him but I have to prepare well for a long and tough fight because
he can punch and will never quit.
Although, Brian Magee is in a hopeless situation because he is coming face to face against an opponent who is very famous because of his punching ability, hand speed and boxing skills or primarily because of his excellent past professional career.
Surely, the fight between Lucian Bute and Brian Magee will win the hearts of many boxing fans and proved to be the eye opener for the rest of super middleweight fighters.
