Vitaly Petrov not worried about his future at Lotus Renault GP – Formula 1 news
Lotus Renault GP’s Vitaly Petrov has recently stated that he is not worried about his future with the team as he has a legitimate contract until the end of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
The team’s principal Eric Boullier on the other hand recently claimed that even though Petrov has a contract with the team until the end of 2012, there are certain clauses regarding his exit in his contract as well.
“I think everything's fine, it's just bullsh*t in the newspapers. As I said at the beginning of the season, we signed for two years and I don't see the reason I need to be worried,” Petrov said in Singapore.
However, such a statement from Boullier is absolutely uncalled for as his decision regarding Nick Heidfeld’s exit was highly criticised as well.
“I think it's everywhere in the world that a contract can be finished not just because of a bad season or I did less points. The contract can finish by another thing like money or things like this. So this is why he said it. But if you ask him a different
question maybe he can answer you differently also,” he added.
Petrov has been doing a great job this season but the team unfortunately was not able to cope up with the rest of the field as a result of which they are struggling right now.
The Russian driver also stated that even if Bruno Senna outperforms him in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season, his stay at the team would not be affected much and he would still be confident about his stay with the team for 2012.
Let’s see how he fares in the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix which starts Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
