Vitaly Petrov not worried about his race seat in Caterham for 2013 – Formula 1 news
Caterham driver Vitaly Petrov has said that he is not worried about his race seat in the team for the 2013 Formula 1 season.
Petrov made his debut in the sport with Renault which is now Lotus back in 2010 and joined the Hingham based team in the current season. Moreover, it is not confirmed that whether he will remain in his team for the next season or not.
Meanwhile, his manager, Oksana Kosachenko has recently said that she is currently having a conversation with three teams. However, she insisted that their first priority is to stay at Caterham.
“Before autumn we have to be ready to take some decisions. I don’t want to be in the situation which we faced last year,” she said.
In addition, the Russian driver said that he will make the required decision about his career’s future. He also said that he has just started some talks regarding the next term.
Besides, he said that at present, he extremely pleased with his team’s remarks that they are delighted with his performance in the season so far.
“I think after August,” Petrov is quoted by the Russian website f1news.ru. “Right now, all the talk about (drivers) moving around is just starting. The main thing is that the (Caterham) team is happy with me, they’ve said it in the press and to me personally.”
Additionally, he said that he is positively looking forward to race with Caterham in the season ahead as he sees no reason for them to get separated.
“Maybe in another situation I would be, but because I have good results and we work well together as a team, I see no reason for that,” he added.
Although, he has not been able to score even a single point in the season until now and has retired in two races. Nonetheless, he is not upset over his lack of form and is aiming to score reasonable points in the remaining season.
Over and above, it will be interesting to see that whether the 27-year-old driver will be able to secure a race seat with his team in the coming year or not.
