Vitaly Petrov wants to stay in F1 for 2013 – Formula 1 news
Caterham driver Vitaly Petrov has shown desire to stay in his team for the 2013 Formula 1 season for the fourth consecutive year.
Petrov’s manager, Oksana Kosachenko has said that there is still a race seat at Force India, but the Russian driver is waiting for the call from Leafield based team.
“At the moment, all the necessary work on our part is done and it’s for Caterham to decide,” she told sportbox.ru.
Furthermore, she said that they are currently talking to other teams also, but avoided to give any details regarding the conversations. However, she admitted that the competition is very tough as there are many other drivers who are also looking forward
to secure race seats for the next season.
“Yes, Vitaly is among the contenders, however, so are six drivers,” she told f1news.ru
Caterham has recently confirmed Charles Pic as one of their drivers for the next season, however, they have not finalised the line-up as the race seat for second driver is still vacant.
Pic has expressed that he is feeling really excited to secure a deal with Caterham and is confidently looking forward to perform well for his new team in the next season.
In addition, he said that his team has got the potential to attain good results in the coming year and asserted that they are currently working very hard to make the essential developments in their next year’s car in order to come up stronger right from
the start.
“Both are very young teams,” Pic said. “For me Caterham factory is great. We're doing everything we can to make a good car so now we have to work and start to prepare for next year. I think Caterham has big potential - I'm 100 percent confident of that.
We just have to work very hard to improve ourselves to be better next year and to take a step forward.”
On the other hand, Petrov is trying to make his way into Caterham for the coming season and is targeting to remain in the sport. Let’s see whether he will be able to achieve his target or not.
