  1. I use bio-oil. it's not as gooey and prevents scars

  2. Yes if you snip it open and apply it topically.  Or just get a spray and apply it that way for a large area.

  3. I've been using vitamin E oil the past couple weeks to help prevent scarring on a piercing I removed.

Vitamin E helps tissues become more relaxed in the area.

I'm not sure how itchy skin could leave a scar unless you're really getting into it.

And, I'm not sure if the capsule will help as much as a topical dose, but if you try it won't hurt you.

  4. The American Academy of Dermatology (December 2006) that stated "vitamin E has complex effects on wound healing," and concluded, "the evidence that topical vitamin E alone improves the cosmetic appearance of scars is poor. It is also associated with a high incidence of contact dermatitis. The use of vitamin E should, therefore, be discouraged."

A scar, once formed, is always there. Vitamin E oil is believed to help heal wounds faster, but there is no clinical evidence of it.  Since vitamin E oil is an oil, it can help keep the scar soft and help improve the appearance of the scar, but it cannot remove it once the scar is present.
