Question:

Vitamin Supplement Testing Criteria?

I see all these websites talking about "Health Support Criteria" when testing and comparing vitamin supplements. Does anyone know what these standards ARE?

And please don't say "google it". Tried, doesn't come up. In 200 pages, it doesn't come up.

  1. for the most part, dietary supplements are not regulated (hence the disclaimer on the bottles: statements have not been evaluated by the FDA).

but you can't just put anything in a bottle and call it a vitamin; there are some minimum testing criteria: potency, identity, purity, bioavailability and good manufacturing practices...because companies "want" to be at least a little be accountable.
