  1. sorry I can't be more help but generally stuff sold in regular stores is synthetic and the highly recognizable names like one a day etc.

Often stuff in health food stores is more from natural sources.

I would highly recommend this supplement instead of vitamin pills..completely natural and read what he has to say about man made vitamins on this site and elsewhere

It uses foods that are powerhouses for one's vitamin and mineral needs.I have heard people saying they got very good results with it.

here are the all natural ingredients in superfood

More on natural versus made made in superfood

torula yeast (nutritional yeast) is a good source of b vitamins.

  2. Almost always synthetic in multi vitamins and most vitamins found in regular stores.

You should alays get vitamins from natural sources.

Cod Liver Oil [Vit A and D]

    Sodium Ascorbate [Vit C]

I drink Kambucha for the B Vitamins.

    You can google for more.

  3. It usually tells you on the bottle.  But most of the time its synthetic.  Check the ingredients too.  Usually most vitamins that come from acidic sources are synthetic.  But go to a vitamin/sport nutrtion specific store and ask one of the clerks, I'm sure they'll know.

  4. Unless the supplement is something in an extract, tincture or similar form such as for things like Ulmus rubra(Slippery Elm), Hypericum perforatum (St Johns Wort) or say Fish Oil... all vitamins are synthetic... by synthetic they have been made in a lab and not extracted from nature... the cost of extracting them in their whole forms from living things would be astronomical & time consuming to say the least.

So whenever you see your calcium, zinc, multi vitamin or iron etc; it's always going to be synthetic.

The difference between synthetic and naturally occuring vitamins and minerals are NILL; Synthetic Vitamin E is  exactly the same as naturally occuring Vitamin E.

The difference lies in the other vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals & macro nutrients (Protein, Lipids & Carbohydrates) that accompany that vitamin or mineral in natural whole foods which decide how the substance is identified, processed & utilised.

    :-)
