I have been having numbness and tingling in my hands and toes around and while on my period since I had a bleeding incident in 2002. Now i'm having it all of the time since my new DR has changes my vitamin prescription. My previous DR put me on a multivitamin with iron. It seemed to work then, now since I relocated, my new Dr thinks I need a prenatal vitamin. Which vitamin deficiency is causing this. I can almost say an iron deficiency, but I was wanting other opinions. Thanks

  1. Iron deficiencies is called anemia. Anemia is accompanied by lack of energy and black circles around the eye. It is a simple test to see if one has enough iron. The doctor can check for this. If you want, donate blood to the red cross. They take hemoglobin samples and reject anyone who is closed to anemic. I donate blood and always fall close to that cut off. :(

Online sources say that anemia can cause numbness. You should take tests to make sure this is the issue.

  2. It sounds like your slightly anemic. this is nothing to worry about it just means your not getting enough iron into your blood. If you don't like what the new doctor is giving you visit your nearest hospital. hospitals can mean waiting a while but is probably best in the long run. explain your situation and they will tell you exactly whats wrong with you and put you on a vitamin or some other medicine

               hope this helps = )
