1. usually tofu is eaten raw.

  2. tofu is made from mushrooms and you cook it, it takes like mushrooms and you cant eat it raw, it has enough protein ,calcium, fibre, and vitamins has eating 10 baby mushrooms.

  3. You should get about 40-50 grams of protein, 1000-1300 mg of calcium, 2.4+ mcg of vitamin B12, about 18 mg of iron, and about 15 mg of zinc. Tofu is made of soybeans and it can have all kinds of different tastes depending on what sauce, seasoning, etc. is on it. Without anything on it, it tastes pretty plain. You can eat it grilled, stir fried, deep fried, basically any way you could eat meat, meaning raw isn't a good idea. A lot of fake meats are made out of tofu/soy, and they can be microwaved. Hope this helps!

  4. I don't really know much about your other questions, sorry, but I still wanted to say that tofu tastes like anything you cook it with. It's like cardboard but a little healthier. It will absorb the taste of anything you cook it with.

If you follow this you will get all you need.

Tofu is good if your a good cook. I wouldn't recommend it to a 13yo, unless you have been cooking meals since you were 8. The veggie burgers, and tofu hot dogs have soy in them and they are already mixed and flavored.

Get yourself a good vegetarian cookbook too.

  6. Nature lover!! there is a lot of misinformation in some of these answers...Trust me...

First of all Tofu is an extract of soya (ie soybeans) each manufacturer has its own methods but essendially the soy is heated in water until a "curd" or solid layer develops on top

(Tofu is often refered to as "bean curd") The solid is removed and compressed into a soft "cake" similar to cheese.. it sort of looks like "white cheese" It is not very appetizing to eat it in this form...although it is very nourishing and good for you. It has the amazing ability to adsorb flavors of the foods it is cooked with..there are many many receipes for easy to fix tofu dishes. Cut the tofu into slices or cubes and stir fry (with very little oil) with almost any food you like...soon you will have a very flavorful tofu dish which is full of vitamins and minerals and all the good stuff. You can even buy tofu pre flavored and pre textured into many different forms. The best thing is to take a food you like and mix a little of it with some tofu and stir fry and enjoy!!

4'7" but full of personality and proud to be a nature lover. Have a great time as a vegan remember eat a variety of foods. Almost any vegetable (avoid white foods like potatoes, rice, pasta and bread) whole wheat varieties of pasta and bread are ok. There is a great answer above about the nutrition needed. your old friend Don.
