  1. Headaches are a very common side effect from prescription medicines but from vitamins it is uncommon.  Perhaps you could skip each one of your vitamins for a week or so to find out which one is causing the headaches.  If it is a multivitamin that is the culprit then you have a real problem.

Headaches can be caused by refined sugar and most of us should reduce our intake of refined sugar.  See item 71 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm .

  2. A good part of it depends on which vitamins, but it's entirely possible and likely that it's an allergic reaction, especially if you get the headache when you take a mutli. I know people that are allergic to everyday simple nutrients that have an RDA... it's very rare, but some people are allergic to things as simple as Vitamin C, Zinc, or any of the other "basics".

My first suggestion to find out which nutrient it might be that's causing the problem would be to talk to an allergist.

Another possibility (although not as likely for a headache) would be if you are taking any drugs that may be interacting with the vitamins you're taking. You can ask a pharmacist if that could happen if you tell them the drugs and vitamins you're taking.

In either case, I wish you luck!
