  1. yes I take a daily vit supplement with iron and a cod liver oil capsule I've noticed a massive difference in my running since.

If you are tired you are probably lacking iron an iron supplement will help but also try to eat iron rich foods, spinach, brocolli (anything a dark leafy green) and red meat, if you eat meat.

  2. yes

  3. Try them and see, your body Will flush out any excess anyway so nothing to lose. Try a multivitamin from Boots or similar.

  4. I am afraid that as far as vitamins are concerned enough is definitely as good as a feast. You can get no possible benefit from exceeding the RDA, which is best obtained from a normal balanced diet including your 5 a day.

A recent study showed that for reasons unclear, people taking vitamin supplements died earlier than those who don't! Researchers at Copenhagen University carried out a review of 67 studies on 230,000 healthy people and found no convincing evidence" that any of the antioxidants helped to prolong life expectancy. But some increased mortality.

  5. I take a Vitamin B supplement (B6, etc) for the iron, as I was tired all the time.  It also includes zinc and a few others.  I can really feel the difference if I don't take it.  It has definitely helped me.

  6. I depends what brand you use.

My Dad used some and he wasn't feeling any difference, so he sent some to Solgar, a really well known brand in the USA and they said that this company were lying about the quantities of ingredients in the capsules, the quantities were so huge, the pill would be too big to swallow! So I would recommend Solgar. Quite pricey but worth it. And vitamins are not like medicine, you have to keep taking them to build them up in your system.

  7. not long ago scientists were saying they had no benefit at all, but then other 'experts' say they are, i think the best thing to go on is how they make you feel

  8. hello!

There are lots of reasons why you might be feeling tired. If you are eating a variety of foods and eating sensibly, then you are unlikely to need any additional supplements. It's worth looking at what else you are doing that might be making you lack energy.

Be careful with some of the advice on here, while it is true that some water soluble vitamins are excreted in your urine if you take too much, there are some other fat soluble vitamins and other minerals that you can overdose on. If you are going to take them, buy a reputable multi-vitamin and mineral supplement, and only take the amount instructed on the packet/container.

Hope you feel more awake soon!
