Vitantonio Liuzzi hopeful of bright future for Hispania Racing team – Formula 1 news
Hispania Racing Team driver Vitantonio Liuzzi believes that his team can continue to surprise most of their fans in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
He also mentioned that with a continuous focus on their car’s development, the Spanish team can improve further in the upcoming races of the 2011 season. Liuzzi added that the Spanish race weekend is the best opportunity for the team’s drivers, where they
can show the world that they are doing their best for better results.
The 29-year-old driver discussed the upcoming grand prix. He said that the Barcelona GP will clearly define strong F1 drivers from the weaker ones.
Almost all the teams are planning to introduce some upgrades for their cars. HRT also decided to introduce new updates in their ‘F111’ car for the Spanish Grand Prix. They are looking to bring some major upgrades, with hopes of a strong performance on the
grid.
Liuzzi admitted that the team is going in the right direction, however if they keep working as well as they have done so far, then they have a bright future ahead of them.
Liuzzi said, “Unfortunately, we weren't able to test as much as we wanted here in winter, and that's why every race is a great test for us. We have to focus on all parts of the car as if it was a test because of the time lost in winter but, if we're able
to get all the updates we were planning.”
The Italian driver added, “The Spanish Grand Prix is a home grand prix for the team so, undoubtedly, this will be a special race. Last time I raced here, in 2005, I really enjoyed the track and the atmosphere and, this time round, with the Hispania Racing
fans in the crowd cheering us on, it will be even more special.”
He further added that it would be a huge boost for their fans, if they were pushed to do well in upcoming Spanish GP. He said that the Barcelona car upgrades will take their machine to a next level. In addition, he appreciated the support of his fans, which
they gave to the team in the first four races of the season despite putting up a poor show.
HRT missed out on the pre-season test sessions with their new car due to delay in its development. Therefore, both HRT drivers Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan are still trying to come to terms of their cars.
