Vitesse Arnhem interested in signing Roda JC Kerkrade’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ruud-Vormer-c31967 – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from GelreDome Stadion indicate that Vitesse Arnhem are taking keen interest in signing Roda JC Kerkrade midfielder, Ruud Vormer.
The 23-year-old was previously linked with Feyenoord Rotterdam, with some reports in Dutch media even indicating that the central midfielder had signed a contract with the Rotterdam giants.
However, Roda JC technical director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Wielaert, has insisted that the midfielder is yet to sign a contract. The technical director also revealed that the outfit from Arnhem are also interested in acquiring his services before the 2012/13 season commence.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258. I have asked Ruud and he says there is nothing to that, which I reported back to Vitesse”, Wielaert said while talking to the journalists.
After hearing about the interest shown by Vitesse, Vormer admitted that he is open to a move, while admitting that Feyenoord have also contacted his agent.
"I am open to move to Vitesse. They are developing into a good side and investing in good players. For example they have acquired the services of Chan Turia and Bony. Feyenoord is also a nice club with a rich history amd they have indeed contacted my agent”,
Vormer was quoted as saying to the media.
The 23-year-old's agent, Winnie Haatrecht, also admitted that his client is open to the Arnhem option, and revealed that they are only waiting to hear from Roda JC.
“I know that Vitesse are interested. Once we have Roda’s consent, we'll talk to the club”, Haatrecht said while talking to the media.
The midfielder has an ongoing contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375 that is due to expire by the end of the ongoing campaign.
Although reports indicate that De Koempels management would be offering the 23-year-old a contract extension in the coming days, it seems an unlikely affair that the versatile midfielder would be prolonging his stay at Parkstad Limburg Stadion.
Vormer joined the outfit from Kerkrade in the summer of 2008 after making 19 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. The 23-year-old has thus far played 91 matches and managed to hit the target four times.
