Vitesse Arnhem striker, Wilfried Bony, has insisted that he does not want to move away from GelreDome Stadion and stressed that he is focusing on competing in the Dutch top tier.
Reports in Dutch media indicated earlier this week that Fulham FC are taking keen interest in signing the 22-year-old in the upcoming winter transfer market.
Moreover, rumours were rife that Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, are also interested in acquiring his services following the youngster’s impressive performances at the Arnhem outfit.
The Dutch media also claimed that some clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 are closely monitoring the Ivorian ace and would be tabling a bid in the winter transfer market. However, the tall striker has insisted that he is not interested in moving abroad at this point of his
career.
“I know nothing. It was in the newspapers but I cannot read Dutch. There has previously been interest of all kinds from abroad but right now I'm just focusing on Vitesse”, Bony said while talking to the journalists.
The outfit from Arnhem also made it clear earlier that they have no intention of losing their star striker in the upcoming winter transfer market, despite the 22-year-old attracting interest from a host of elite European clubs.
The young Ivorian ace arrived at GelreDome Stadion in January earlier this year after netting an impressive 22 goals in 59 appearances for Sparta Prague. Since his arrival, the youngster has performed impressively and has exceeded all expectations.
The 22-year-old has scored 11 goals, while providing a bagful of assists as well, in 17 fixtures for the Eredivisie outfit. The youngster is currently the club’s leading goal-scorer of the season, having hit the back of the net on eight occasions from 12
appearances.
Although the outfit from Arnhem have many good players in their squad, the Ivorian ace’s phenomenal show at the front-line has made it possible for Vitesse to occupy the fourth spot in the Eredivisie table.
Bony has an ongoing contract with the Arnhem outfit that runs until the summer of 2014. With growing interest from elite European clubs, it seems unlikely that the young forward would be pursuing his career at Vitesse in the second half of the 2011/12 campaign.
