Vitesse Arnhem are in search of a manager to replace Albert Ferrer, who had a disappointing season at GelreDome Stadion. The Arnhem outfit narrowly avoided relegation to Eerste Divisie. Merab Jordania, Vitesse president, wishes for Louis van Gaal to take
over the managerial role.
Jordania, the former Georgian International, took over the financially troubled Vitesse in August 2010 and has invested large sums of money in the outfit from Arnhem. He replaced Theo Bos with the inexperienced Spanish trainer last year, but his decision
did not bear fruit by the end of 2010/11 campaign. However, the 50-year-old now seeks the former Barcelona FC coach to lead his side in the upcoming season.
“Van Gaal could flawlessly execute my vision. I have a lot of faith in him. He can coach here. With him, Vitesse are in good hands”, Jordania was quoted as saying to the media.
The 59-year-old tactician is currently seeking a new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 after his dismissal from Bayern Munich’s managerial hot seat earlier this year. The Dutch trainer is vastly experienced and could make Vitesse, with the help of Jordania’s investment, a force to be
reckoned with in Europe in the coming years. However, the Arnhem outfit president understands that it would be hard to lure the tactician to coach his side.
“I understand that he does not want to work for us. Gaal has now so many years in a row always under pressure. Maybe he's a little tired. However, I hope we can seize the opportunity”, Jordania added.
The former Georgian footballer aims to become the Dutch champions and appear in the 2012/13 edition of UEFA Champions League.
“I want my side to achieve the title within two years and to qualify for the Champions League”, Jordania concluded.
ADO Den Haag’s John van den Brom was also heavily linked for the coaching job at GelreDome Stadion in the earlier reports. However, with the Vitesse president interested in bringing the former Bayern Munich manager to Arnhem, it seems unlikely that Van den
Brom would be the successor to Ferrer.
