The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 boss has expressed his disappointment over the 4-4 draw against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the first-leg of the second qualifying round of UEFA Europa League last week.
Vitesse head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fred-c14136 Rutten, expressed his disappointment over his side’s 4-4 stalemate against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the first-leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round. The two sides met each other at Lovech Stadion
on Thursday, July 19.
The Arnhem outfit started proceedings brightly, and took the lead in the 23rd minute through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Reis. However, only a minute later, the hosts levelled the score-line, thanks to a Yordan Todorov strike.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zdravko-Lazarov-c37866 yet again restored parity four minutes after the half-time break.
Four minutes later, the hosts were trailing once again when Wilfried Bony found the back of the net. However, Lazarov scored his second of the evening in the 64th minute to make the score-line 3-3.
In the 77th minute, Van Ginkel scored his second to give his side a one-goal lead, but Tassio scored a last minute equaliser to finish proceedings at Lovech Stadion 4-4.
Rutten, who took the reins of the Arnhem-based club earlier this month, stressed that his side could have easily won the game, but they gave it away.
“I am happy with the four goals we scored. We knew we were able to do this with this team. But I am not satisfied at all with the goals we conceded. We gave away the match ourselves. At times we were too nervous in possession.
We just gave the ball away. In this phase of pre-season you often see that. [In the second leg] we will be one week further on, so things will look different again”, the former PSV Eindhoven boss was quoted as saying to Uefa.com.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905 will take on Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the return leg at GelreDome Stadion on Thursday, July 26. Rutten knows that his side only needs to avoid a defeat at home in order to make progression to the next qualifying round of the
Europe’s secondary club competition.
