Vitor Belfort speaks up regarding Chael Sonnen vs. Jon Jones – UFC News
Not just Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson are against UFC’s decision of putting The American Gangster Chael Sonnen against light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, even Vitor Belfort believes the decision is unjust. Belfort, who recently suffered
a career devastating loss at the hands of Jones, tweeted against the decision, inviting his followers to add fuel to the fire.
“I would like to know what you guys think about the decision of #soonen vs #jones and others fights as well that it's happen offen,” tweeted Belfort.
“I know that soonen is a big mouth but he can sale a fight and he step up when @ufc need them so I hope this can be a good choice good lucky,” came in yet another tweet by the ‘old lion’.
“There's a lot I do not agree, mainly fights that are married. You can see that fights are chosen,” he added.
Belfort currently stands with 21 wins and 10 losses in MMA. He went head to head with Jon ‘Bones’ Jones earlier this month at UFC 152. For sure, he proved to be Jones’ biggest nightmare to date, giving the champion a severe ligament injury by applying a
fatal armbar submission.
Last week, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced a fight scheduled between Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones for next year at The Ultimate Fighter season 17. While Dana White, president of the UFC, defended the decision saying fans are demanding it, others
believe fighters like Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson should have been given the opportunity.
Even Jones defended the decision saying he wants to defeat Sonnen to get over with this chapter once and for all. It should be noted here that Jones had declined the idea of facing Sonnen at UFC 151, due to which the card was cancelled. If Jones had accepted
the fight back then, things would have been a lot different than today.
For most fans, Jones bent towards the showdown for the hefty cheque that came along. Previously, ‘Bones’ had asserted that he would not fight Sonnen until The American Gangster comes through the right channel.
