The Dragons have highlighted their need for a midfielder, after Fredy Guarin made his intention of leaving the club crystal clear. The Colombian International was a regular feature under Andre Villas-Boas but Vitor Pereira has hardly given him any playing time this term.
Not surprisingly, the player was fed-up with his status at the helm and attracted the attention of several European sides, who expressed interest in acquiring him. Juventus were believed to be the front-runners but a switch to Turn broke down a couple of days ago.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446 laughed away the offer from their Portuguese counterparts and deemed it far below their evaluation.
After being priced out of a move for the Selecao International, the Portistas have seemingly turned their attention to Lucho Gonzalez, who left the side in favour of Marseille in 2009.
The Argentine is allegedly keen on making a return to the Primeira Liga and talks of a sensational Porto come back have been dominating the back pages.
However, Vitor Pereira has refused to comment on the ongoing speculation and remained non-committal about whether the loan deal would go through or not.
Speaking to reporters, he said that in football clubs there were often rumours about transfers but it did not mean that all of them were necessarily true.
"Lucho? No comment on entries and exits. I have never spoken about assumptions and I will not make any exceptions now. At club level, coaches, the structure itself and the players are prepared for speculation in the market. There is often talk of many things but very little actually happens.”
The tactician also spoke about Jorge Fucile, who signed for Santos on loan this winter, and said that he was hoping that the Uruguayan would be able to play on a consistent basis and would have a bright future ahead of him.
"I wish him http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Good-Luck-c39444 and thank him for everything that he did for us. He did not have enough opportunities here, so he left for more playing time. He went to a big club, where he will fight for goals. It was on loan and he can return. I wish him well, as he wished for us to become champions,” Vitor Pereira said.
Although the tactician has refused to comment on whether Lucho Gonzalez will arrive at the helm this winter, given the club’s need for a midfielder, a switch definitely looks to be on the cards.
