Question:

Vizio 42" LCD TV: How to get PIP to work?

I have a Vizio 42" LCD TV, and I have my Rogers High Def Cable box hooked up to it, and then I have my VCR hooked up to my Rogers Box.

I can get PIP to work, but I want to be able to watch two different channels at the same time. Right now, I am able to watch two different components at the same time (eg. HDMI and Component)

If I switch to my VCR and try to watch TV through that - then it only shows the same channel on my Rogers Box (meaning now I have two of the same channels in PIP) - how can I switch channels on one and not affect the other?

  1. You need two Tuners to watch two different programs, so your setup is not going to work.

Try this. Split your cable feed into two: one goes directly to the TV tuner, the other goes to the set-top box. If your TV has a cable tuner, you should be able to watch all free cable channels on the TV; at the same the Rogers box provides access to all channels. then do PIP with TV tuner and the output of the set-top box.
