I have a 50" Vizio Plasma P50HDM. What started with a loud "popping" sound and the screen going blank has further degenerated into first losing sound as well, then the TV shutting itself off after about 10-20 seconds, into finally not powering up at all.
I called Vizio and they transferred me to an outfit called "Repair Solutions" who service out of warranty Vizio products. They want a hefty $850 to fix the TV on-site. I wonder what parts are required to replace, wether I can order them and fix the TV myself? I am handy and although I have no experience with electronics, I could pull out and replace whole assemblies if that's what it takes.
