Vizio P42 dark haze when turned on

Question

Have owned our Vizio P42 for about 18 mo.'s, recently when it is turned on after being off for some time there is a dark pulsing haze over images. It lasts for over 30 min. or so. Once it clears all is okay. I fear it may be dying. Of course it's out of warranty. Has anyone had this problem and can offer any suggestions?
