Zenit St. Petersburg winger, Vladimir Bystrov, has expressed disappointment after their 0-0 draw in the UEFA Champions League group stage encounter against Apoel FC at Petrovsky stadium.
The Russian winger came off the bench as a second half substitute, replacing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Konstantin-Zyryanov-c21312, and played his first group stage match in the ongoing Champions League campaign.
Bystrov, who returned from an injury against Anzhi Makhachkala after a month of Russian Premier League absence, revealed that the Russian outfit were unlucky not to get a goal, despite playing quality football against the Cypriot
First Division club.
“It's not because of a bad luck but we needed to score. We should not blame anybody else than ourselves because we have failed to score a goal at home” the Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
He added: “APOEL played fine in defence and they were very organized. They have players with good experience and they are good in counter attacks. Whenever we tried to put pressure in attack, they defended well”.
Bystrov is of the opinion that Apoel are a great club and revealed that they rightly deserve their place atop the champions league group table.
The draw has now cut Zenit’s lead over third-placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, who are now trailing the Russian outfit by just a point.
Apoel were least affected by the recent draw, as the Cyprus-based club only stretched their unbeaten run in the champions League. 
The former Spartak Moscow man is of the opinion that Zenit need to alter the situation if they are to progress to later stages of Champions League. 
Zenit managed to claim a 3-1 win against the defending UEFA Europa League champions, the last time when these two sides met in a group stage encounter at Petrovsky stadium. The Meshki player admitted that he is now eagerly awaiting
the last group stage clash against FC Porto.
The promising winger went on to reveal the significance of the upcoming match and reiterated his desire to complete a double against the Dragoes.
