Vladimir Komarov captures Men’s 200m freestyle gold: Day three – YMCA National Championship
Vladimir Komarov of Upper Main Line-PA captured gold medal of the Men’s 200m freestyle on day three of the 2012 YMCA National Long Course Championship at Georgia Institute of Technology Aquatics Center on Wednesday, July 25.
Komarov lived up to the expectations of his supporters as he showed his urgency towards the finishing blockade for gold medal.
With his astonishing pace, Komarov enjoyed a prominent lead over his fellow swimmers and reached the victory stand for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 52.76 seconds.
His title claiming effort remained two body lengths faster from his teammate, Nic Graesser, who occupied second position of the discipline by clocking a time of 1 minute and 54.44 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Nik Bondarenko of West Cook-IL, who was only 0.16 seconds slower from his former finisher and hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 54.60 seconds for bronze medal.
Fourth finest spot of the event was secured by Justin Mehl of Middle Tyger-SC, who was 0.20 seconds behind and settled on the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 54.80 seconds.
The 16-year-old Mehl was followed by Ryan McRae of Suncoast-FL, who remained 0.31 seconds slower and occupied fifth position of the discipline by producing a time of 1 minute and 55.11 seconds.
McRae was followed by Justin Kaisrlik of Orlando-FL, who stayed 1.10 seconds away from his foregoing finisher and ended his sprint in sixth best place by submitting a time of 1 minute and 56.21 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was  gained by Tate Warden of Huntington-WV, who suffered a loss of 0.34 seconds from Kaisrlik and concluded his swim in a time of 1 minute and 56.55 seconds.
Warden was followed by Coli Ellington of Triangle Area-NC, who was 0.01 seconds apart and appeared on the finishing blockade as eighth position holder by clocking a time of 1 minute and 56.56 seconds.
Furthermore, Komarov was delighted with his gold finish in the discipline and stated that he would try hard to defend his title at the upcoming swimming tournaments.
