Vladimir Malkov crushes Alexander Roovers in Men’s Singles semi-final at European Universities Games
Russia’s in-form shuttler Vladimir Malkov showed a staggering performance in Men’s Singles semi-final contest when he crushed Germany’s Alexander Roovers at the European Universities Games-Badminton Individual Tournament in Spain, on Monday, July 16.
The top seeded Malkov, who has been incredible in his killing run in the championship, remained consistent on court in semi-final showdown and easily sent the fifth seeded Roovers packing in a commanding fashion.
Throughout the whole battle, it was Malkov who remained on driving seat as he did not let his German rival to dominate the pace and eventually emerged as the winner in a one-sided manner by taking 49 minutes on court.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Roovers was helpless against the power play of his Russian rival as he failed to match the pace of rallies and also could not make an effective use of his net play. He lost the battle easily with a humiliating margin on the board.
Malkov started to show his incredible craft from the starting points of opening game as he played with tremendous precision and did not encounter any interruption from his rival.

After the interval, Malkov continued showing his remarkable play on court as he did not miss any chance to end rallies.
He was on course in the entire concluding phase and took the game with a staggering score of 21-9.
The in-form Malkov emerged as victorious against Roovers in straight sets with an amazing score of 21-12 and 21-9.
