Vladimir Malkov ousts Joachim Persson in Men’s Singles quarter-final at Russia Open Grand Prix
Russia’s Vladimir Malkov surged into Men’s Singles semi-final after showing a spirited display of top quality badminton to his home fans in the quarter-final encounter when he ousted Denmark’s Joachim Persson at the Russia Open Grand Prix 2012 on Friday, June 29, in Russia.
The un-seeded local shuttler was in full swing as he played at his best speed and managed to overpower his experience Danish opponent in a mouth watering contest that lasted for 46 minutes.
The in-form Malkov worked really hard in the first game and took it with a tight score but lost his focus in the second set and lost is easily. Nonetheless, he proved his mettle by putting up a phenomenal show in the deciding game and won the battle in rubber sets with a good margin.

The positive and dominating play of Malkov helped him to grab the deciding game with a tremendous score of 21-12.
The aggressive Malkov emerged as the winner in this sensational quarter-final battle with a superb 22-20, 11-21 and 21-12 margin on the board.
