Vocational to trouble Hallelujah in British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Fillies´ Stakes at Goodwood
Vocational has been unlucky since winning at Chester in July last year. In her last two appearances, the 3-year-old was awful, finishing ninth and eighth respectively.
So, the filly apparently has nothing to fascinate the punters in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Fillies´ Stakes (Handicap), being held at Goodwood on Friday, June 8th.
However, one can find out plenty of positives too. She is in good shape and a return to 6f will also be helpful for the Mark Johnston-trained.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s charge ran well off 10lb higher in her latest outing and with favourable conditions at Goodwood, she has a great chance of getting back to the winning ways.
Among her confirmed rivals are: Hallelujah, Free Verse, Moretta Blanche, Bless You, Mortitia, Dreamwriter, Interakt, Cochabamba and Celtic Sixpence.
The class 3 meeting is scheduled to begin at 20:30 (GMT). A cash prize of £7,763 is reserved for the ultimate champion.
Vocational has made four outings so far this season, but nothing good has come yet. On the other hand, Hallelujah is pumped up with confidence after a spectacular show lately.
After remaining unbeaten last two years, the 4-year-old could not continue her winning run, when made her seasonal debut last month.
The audience at Ripon saw her narrowly missing the gold medal in the C. B. Hutchinson Memorial Challenge Cup (Fillies' Handicap). Despite the fact that she did a wonderful job in the final stages of the event, the filly finished
second by a length’s distance.
Mortitia is also expected to bounce back. After showing a below par effort on her seasonal debut, the four-year-old improved her work to some extent, ending up third in the Charnwood Forest Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Leicester.
Free Verse holds a good record track, but cannot be trusted especially after her poor show at Ascot last month.
According to our calculations, Vocational will be able to create some problems for Hallelujah, only if she gives her best. It will be a tug of war between the two rampant fillies and we wish the best of luck to everyone.
