Voda-Phone V2 - Touchscreen doesn't recognize...

I recently purchased a Voda-Phone V2 2.8" touch screen mobile phone less than a month ago. The touchscreen has stopped recognizing touch. Is this common? Is this something I can fix without shipping it back to China at my expense for warranty repair?
