Question:

Vodafone Mobile Broadband?

I'm thinking of buying into a 12month contract with Vodafone for their 3GB mobile broadband for £15 p/month.

Is this a good deal? How much data is 3GB p/month and can i keep track of it? I mainly use the internet for browsing, downloading songs (though not that many), sending/receiving emails.

Also will i be able to have the connection 'always on'?

Any experienced users' answers would be appreciated

Thanks

Stu

  1. Well.... it works, but not as you'd probably expect. Mobile internet is still in early days and my experiences with Vodafone (although one of the best ones I've used), it's still not the same as home broadband. Don't expect to be able to get massive download rates, and coverage at each end of a room can range from great connection speeds to 56kbps. You can leave it on however this will eat battery life on laptops and you will experience the odd disconnect (like most things).

3GB a month is ideal for mobile usage (since downloading 3GB will take a month!), however it's better for things such as email and IM, browsing the net is very data intensive from a computer (as opposed to a mobile which only downloads neccessary data).
