Vodafone extend their deal with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
The deal between the Formula One team McLaren and the mobile communications giant Vodafone has been further extended up till the end of 2013.
The British racing team and the telecommunication leader signed the first contract in 2007 which has now been extended to another three years. The deal was confirmed between the two on Thursday morning.
As per the deal, Vodafone would continue to be the official title sponsor of the team as well as it has now become the total communications partner also.
As the deal was finalised the team Boss of McLaren talked to the media exclaiming that Vodafone is the best title partner the team has had over the years. He further continued telling, "Why do I say that? Well, the word 'partner' says it all. Vodafone is
our partner in a very genuine sense of that word - a very real contributor to an ever-evolving series of high-tech innovations on our cars and within our operating systems. That's why I know I speak on behalf of all at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes when I say
how delighted I am that our two companies have agreed not only to renew our partnership but also to re-launch it.”
He further vowed to enhance the technological collaborations with the communication giant in order to facilitate everybody in McLaren. They further wish to ensure smooth communication among the team members that are stationed at any part of the globe.
Moreover, the two have decided to come up with some special and innovative ways to ensure better participation of Vodafone's customers in the sport and the team activities.
"I like to think that Vodafone McLaren Mercedes is the most inclusive team in the world's most exclusive sport - and, with that ethos in mind, we'll be unveiling some very exciting Vodafone McLaren Mercedes marketing initiatives in the near future."
Before signing with McLaren, the company had spent considerable time with Ferrari as being their major sponsor up till 2007 season.
At the re-launch ceremony, the group chief commercial officer of Vodafone, Morten Lundal showed immense joy. He talked to the reporters saying that the partnership had been very successful for both of them and now he is looking forward for better results
in the future as well.
He concluded saying that now they together aim to engage the Vodafone customers in a very dynamic way that would allow the customers to get further closer to the sport.
