Former Germany manager, Berti Vogts has gone on to lash out at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896, as he claims the player never proved to be professional, and feels that he may finally develop the right mentality at the Emirates.
The German international has gone on to score three goals for Arsenal in six appearances this season, which had labelled him to becoming one of the better signings of the summer.
However, Vogts has insisted that Podolski tends to drift away from his responsibilities on the pitch, and this is something that he might finally correct at Arsenal.
Vogts has complained that Podolski doesn’t drop back to help his team defend, and insists that sometimes the player tends to go mentally absent on the pitch.
Despite those claims, he also feels that Arsene Wenger is the right man to help Podolski reach the next level in his career, and become a super star.
Given the fact that the German international has all the talent in the world, all he needs to do is work on his work-rate, in order to achieve that super star status.
Vogts has gone on to blast Podolski for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 in mind, he is reported to have said: "It is always the defence that gets criticised. But the defence starts with Podolski. When he loses
the ball he must start running back once in a while.”
He then went on to appreciate the Gunners and Wenger, as he went on to add: "Now at Arsenal, he has a manager under whom he has to work really hard in training. Now he gets educated as a professional."
However, he also admitted that Podolski is an exceptional player, who is capable of winning just about any game for his team.
Nonetheless, he insisted that it would be better for Podolski to leave his friends at home when he steps onto the pitch, since that is the only way for the striker to progress as a player.
"[He had] too many friends in Cologne and I hope they stayed at home."
