  1. It's kind of hard to explain by just writing.  Try and google some voice lesson examples.

I used to take lessons and some that worked very well for increasing your range, and developing your lower range.

There is the typical 9 note scale - 5 up and 4 back down.  Do it with different vowel sounds.  The easiest vowle sound is the oo.  Try mee, mah, moe, moe, or starting with different consonents (using a D would be more staccato).

Also we did a 9 note ooh - 9 notes up and then back down.  This will really help you transition between full and head voice.

Try taking the regular 5 note scale as deep as you can go and remember to support the lower notes with your breathing too.

  2. hi! i was performed at my graduation three weeks ago and that is after being terrified that my voice was not good enough. as you probably know, warming up is the best treatment you can give your vocal chords, its like P.E. if you don't warm up properly you can damage your voice.

this will sound silly but it worked for me in less than two weeks during rehearsals- try to do:

    1) lip rolls through a five note octave. vibrations help to release that tension that tends to hold on when you want to belt a note.

    2) tongue twisters...red lorry yellow lorry. broken biscuits, bit of butter, copper kettle. pull faces while saying them, try it on a scale. this helps with your diction.

    3) take deep breaths, but using your diaphragm. inhale after four, hold for four seconds, then release pushing out the air slowly. try again, but hold for six seconds, then try on eight seconds etc. i held mine for twenty two seconds after trying this for a week and it helped me to control those notes that are usually wobbly.

    hope this helps.

    Good luck!!!
