Voice for Radio?

Ok...

I am majoring in Theatre and Broadcast Media....I have always been told that I have a "voice for radio"...what exactly does that mean...I never have understood even though I have always heard it

  1. It probably just means that you have a good voice that people like to listen to.  It might mean that  women will fall in love with your voice even if you look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. At one time it would have meant a lot more because sound quality was not good so voices had to have a particular quality to come across well, to be heard and understood.   You should listen to some old fashioned radio programs and see if you sound like Gerald Mohr (!)  or Basil Rathbone or Jack Webb or  Bob Bailey or Orson Welles.  If you do you definitely have a radio voice.  Here's a URL where you can here those old time radio favorites:  otrnow.com
