Dmitri Cheryshev has assured the fans of meeting their expectations after replacing Gadzhi Gadzhiev and has backed Denis Cheryshev to join Dynamo Moscow
Dmitry Cheryshev has been appointed as new head coach at Volga Nizhny Novgorod, the official website of the Russian Premier League club has confirmed.
It was earlier reported that the Russian outfit is considering appointing Anatoliy Byshovets, Rashid Rakhimov, Aleksandr Grigoryan or Alexander Tarkhanov but they appointed Cheryshev after the 43-year-old himself expressed a desire
to return to the hot-seat.
Cheryshev has led the team during 2011/12 season and helped Volga in retaining a place in the Russian championship last season despite a poor start. Cheryshev, meanwhile, helped the Volgari in reaching the semi-final of the Russian
Cup last term.
But after he left Lokomotiv stadium, his successor, Gadzhi Gadzhiev, was little helpful to the team in general and later resigned to take charge at FC Krylia Sovetov Samara.
The former FC Khimik coach has now expressed his delight after returning to a much familiar place and assured the fans of helping the Volga Natives in getting them out of the drop zone in the near future.
As things stand, Volga are at the 13th spot on the league table and just eight points away from the bottom spot.
“So far I can only say one thing: I am happy to return to Volga. I hope if the club is interested in making a long term deal with a lot of cooperation. I know the team is pretty much as it has not changed on a large scale from
the team that was in the last season.”
“I will work harder to address the problems in the team and hopefully can alter the situation.” The former Lokomotiv Nizhny Novgorod man was quoted as saying.
Speaking on Real Madrid striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-c10837 Cheryshev, the Russian tactician advised his son to join Dynamo Moscow only if he wants to leave Santiago Bernabeu in the near future.
“He will himself make a decision about his future. If he will ask me, I will tell him to go to Moscow,” he concluded.
