Volga Nizhny Novgorod will lock horns with Spartak Moscow in the upcoming Russian Premier League tie at Luzhniki stadium on Sunday, and Gadzhi Gadzhiev believes that his side is ready for a sterner test against the Russian giants.
Volga, meanwhile, will play the upcoming mouth-watering encounter on the back of a 1-0 win against Dynamo Moscow at home. As things stand, the Volgari are at the 7th spot in the league table.
“I would not say that we are preparing for the upcoming match against Spartak in a special way but I can tell you that we are working out on some tactical assignments after reading the game features of the opponent.” The former
Anzhi Makhachkala boss was quoted as saying.
Gadzhiev urged his side to work harder for the upcoming game, admitting that the Moscow-based club are hard to defeat. He went on to praise the Spartachi and gave example of their 2-1 win against newly promoted side, Alania Vladikavkaz,
last week.
The 66-year-old went on to tell that Spartak deserved to take all three points against Alania because they stuck to their game plan during their last game. Gadzhiev revealed that the Myaso created more chances as compared to their
opponents.
However, the former Krylia Sovetov Samara manager insisted that it is still too early to draw a conclusion, urging his side to take one game at a time. The Russian national told his side to extend their decent league form.
Gadzhiev warned Volga against complacency, telling them that the starting games of the championship are most important.
“I see no reason after one round to assess the state of the team. Five or six conclusions can be made out of the game. Therefore, to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent is just unprofessional.” Gadzhiev concluded.
The Russian tactician, who started his playing career with Spartak Leningrad, has ruled out Artur Nigmatullin, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Artur-c6727 Sarkisov and Nikolai Zaytsev for the upcoming game against the Moscow-based club on Sunday.
