Volinteering with autistic teens.....?

i wanted to volunteer in some way....my friend that lives in another state said that it would be fun and helpful to volunteer with teens with autism.....ive been tryin to find a program or something to be able to do that.....but i havent found anything....can anyone tell me how i can volunteer in virginia with teens with autism....

Call your local chapter of the Autism Society of America. It should be in the phone book under Autism Society of Virginia. If there is a way for you to help, they will find it.

i help at my school and plan on helping in a club call buddy club which pairs normal kids with autistic kids its a great program and alot of schools have them so do some research about ur schools special needs program u will find something

my friends little brother has angel man(its kinda like autism) and the church we(both of us belong) go to has a special program. so that would be a great place to check grist. then check at your local middle and high schools. you should be able to lots of stuff like the paraolymics. just depends on how old you are

Probably the best place to start is with your school district.  If there is a program for special needs students at your school, they may be able to provide volunteering information.  You might even be able to serve as a teen mentor at your school.
